DIY Coffee Mug

I previously posted a cute little engagement gift basket that I had created for my newly engaged best friend. In the basket were two coffee mugs with the sayings… “One Lucky Mr.” & “Soon to be Mrs.”

This is a really simple, fun and easy DIY you can create if you want to add a personal touch to any gift. Now I do not have the best hand writing but I think the imperfections and handmade look are what makes the gift that much more special.

This is an inexpensive project as well so instead of spending $12.00 on a coffee mug from Target, you can just look up some inspiring quotes on Pinterest and make one yourself!

Materials:

1. Paint Pen.  (I got mine from Michaels)

2. Two plain coffee mugs. (you can pick these up at any craft store)

-You will also be using your oven.

Again, I do not have the best hand writing so I had to re-do the sayings a few times before I got the look I wanted. To do this simply wipe the mug with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol and dry.

Here are a few more sayings you could add for an engaged couple:

“I popped the question…” & “I said YES!”

“I do.” & “Me too!”

“Let’s have coffee together…” & “for the rest of our lives.”

Once you have your desired look, bake in the oven for 40 min at 375 degrees. To avoid cracking heat up the mugs in a cool oven. The baking should make the mugs dishwasher safe. But I would still hand wash just to make them lat that much longer.

And that’s it, you’re done! Like I said its a simple project that can add a personal touch to any gift.

Thank you!
